I feel like there’s a plethora of marketing articles out there proclaiming, “Marketing is dead!” “Blogs are dead!”  “[insert whatever] is dead!”

 

None of these things are dead.

Marketing is not working like it used to.

 

Instead of doing some research, people are shouting from the rooftops that marketing must be dead since they’ve seen a decline.

 

The marketing strategy is not dead, but it has changed a bit.

 

Blogs

Blogs are used the same way they always have been – to get organic traffic to your website.  Just because readers aren’t obsessing over blogs anymore (that was only the beauty, wellness, etc. industries, not commercial real estate) doesn’t mean we should throw them out.  In fact, over half of my website traffic entered from my blog articles.  Blogging regularly about topics your target market is searching for can easily double your website’s traffic, which is a great marketing plan.

 

Newsletters

I’ll admit it.  It’s harder than ever to get people engaged in your newsletter and email marketing.  Gone are the days where you could knock out a few paragraphs of offers and call it “done”.  Today, we expect a higher level of storytelling in our newsletters than ever before.  Telling stories about your own journey is a great way to get started in your newsletters.

 

Social media

Remember when we could post photos of our lunch and get leads?  Not anymore!  The realm of social media marketing has become crowded, even for commercial real estate agents.  To succeed on social media, we need to enact storytelling tactics and reels to get the same attention we used to with a lunch photo.

 

Funnels

Development and investment in a sales and marketing funnels for your commercial real estate marketing is easier than ever before. The statistics are clear.  It’s harder to turn leads into clients.  Funnels are declining in effectiveness for the same reason – our clients expect A+ level storytelling.  All your welcome emails, freebies, videos, whatever makes up your funnel needs to be high quality content to get more conversions.

 

Freebies

Lead generating freebies are not dead!  Our clients have higher standards now, so we need to deliver with excellence.  Pro tip to creating freebies – take your clients’ biggest objections and create marketing materials that overcome those objections.

 

Objection:

“There are no good properties for leasing in this city!”

 

Overcome:

“Here’s a marketing material with a map of retail spaces that have leased under market value this quarter.”

 

Eventually, you’ll have a library of marketing materials that will convert into sales!

 

 

Press Releases

Press releases not dead and easier than ever to create yourself with services like EINPresswire.  By crafting a well-written press release, you can effectively communicate important updates, announcements, or newsworthy events to your target audience.  You can print out your press releases and add them to your brag book to distinguish you against your competitors, making them a great commercial real estate marketing strategy to add.
